"Twist has outdone even himself with a femme fatale Witch, a 12 foot swivel-hipped diva in flaming red directly from the grandest of operas." - Opera Today
Comissioned by The Houston Grand Opera and The Atlanta Opera. This collaboration between singers and puppets breathes new life into Humperdink’s retelling of one of Grimm’s most famous fairy tales. A completely original star is born through Twist’s design of an “extended opera singer,” a 12’ swivel hipped femme fatale Witch. An impressive stage illusion is created between Hansel & Gretel, the parents and the larger than life Witch. 14 Angels, a sandman, a dew fairy and entire league of gingerbread children also delight.
