TWIST FESTIVAL

The Twist Festival brought together four original, award-winning and highly distinctive shows from world-renowned puppeteer Basil Twist to the Washington, D.C, area. Audiences experienced the underwater marvel Symphonie Fantastique which combines the magic of puppetry with powerful suggestions of music, dance and abstract art the traditional, brilliantly imagined, tour de force of puppetry that is Petrushka the intimate, meditative journey of images and emotions Dogugaeshi and the outrageously fun and glamour-clad Arias with a Twist featuring the gorgeous voice of Joey Arias. The festival was a collaboration between the Shakespeare Theatre Company, Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center, Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company and The Studio Theatre.
